New Original Watercolor Cards
I am participating in the University Women’s Association’s annual Holiday Bazaar this Saturday, November 3, 2012, from 10am-4pm, in Wood Center at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. These are samples of new hand-painted, original watercolor cards that I will have for sale. Please stop and look at the new work and to visit.
Inspriration for Painting
I am sometimes asked where I get inspiration for the paintings that I create. When at all possible, I enjoy painting on location and I try to do this as often as possible. However, this is not always possible and when I have a deadline to produce artwork for an exhibit such as one that I have scheduled at The Alaska House Art Gallery for March 2013, I work from either my own sketches or my photographs. Below are several photographs that I took today during a walk with friends on the University of Alaska, Fairbanks campus near Ballaine Lake. It was below freezing and the low light condition made for interesting contrast. I will post painting images here if decide to turn any of these into finished paintings.
